Warren Smith spent Sunday at Newberg with his cousin, Ken neth Woods. Mrs. E. D. Allen came up frohi Marmot Friday to spend the week end with relatives here. Ser. V. W. Page Five EASTERN CLACKAMAS NEWS Mrs. W. E. Dunn, of Spokane, Wash., is visiting at the home of her sister Mrs. J. R. Hughes. Mrs. J. E. H. Simpson and Miss Eleanor went to Seaside Monday morning for a weeks visit. W. F. Cary of Boring, was transacting business in this local ity last Thursday and greeting old friends. Mrs. Mary Adams was a visitor Sunday at the home of her daugh ter Mrs. T. Ahlburg returning to her home in Portland the same evening. Mrs. George Hardin of Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. Elmer Smith of Clayton, Illinois, arr visiting their brother and sister, W. E. Linn and Mrs. Julius Kreiger. Banker H. C. Stephens has a new Bulck, the body of which is painted a dark green. It is a very handsome appearing car and is commensurate with his professional dignity. Dr. Me. Call, E. E. Saling and son Ted, and Theodore Ahlburg went to the North Fork on a fishing trip last Sunday morning early, in the Doctor’s machine and had excellent luck. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Yonce and son Virgil, with a young lady friend, attended the dance at this place Saturday night. The Yonce family were former resi dents of Estacada but now are residing at Oregon City. Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Wagner returned Thursday from an ex tended trip. They had been to Corvallis and thence went to Waldport, and report a pleasant time, enjoying the salt air, water and sea fishing. They both feel very much recuperated by the rest and recreation. They made the trip back and forth in their car. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Farrar, of Portland, have rented Mrs. M. H. Evans’ little house, which form erly was the real estate office of R. M. Standish. They are ac companied by a Miss Martha Porter of Iowa. They expect to spend the summer here, as Mr. Farrar has the contract for re moving cord wood to the Boring Wood & Coke Co. A. G. Ames who was in East ern Washington when he received word that his father-in-law the late W. H. Kellendonk had died, started for home immediately but only reached Portland just after the remains had been taken to the crematorium. He made the trip to Republic on horseback in about twelve hours, riding all night, and just managed to catch the train. When the telegram reached him, he was 85 miles from the railroad. Mrs. M. H. Evans received Monday a batch of seven letters which she had written to her son Milton last fall when he was in France, and had never been de livered. A card from Mrs. E. W. Bart lett informs us that they were going to start home last Satur day. If so they will be here about the time this issue goes to press.
