Keilendonk was largely attended last Saturday. Elder Jones of Portland, a minister of the Latter Day Saints of which denomination Mr. Keilendonk was .a member, officiated. After the services at the house were concluded, the body was by express direction of the deceased, taken to Portland where it was cremated. C. Jubb re turned Monday from the Chatau- qua at Gladstone. Mr. Jubb says they had a great time. He was much taken w|th Private Peat’s story of his experiences in the war. Private Peat was wounded and lay for two days in the field befoie he was rescued. It must be acknowledged that those who went in at the beginning of the war, suffered the most hardships, as everything was disorganized and run in a hap hazard fashion.
