Thursday. July 10, 1919 Warren Barr arrived home Tuesday from overseas. Miss Dora Currin came home from Salem to spend the Fourth. J. M. VanDuser, of Portland, was the guest of Dr. and Mrs. R. Morse last Sunday. Col. Kilgore was shipping his household goods Monday, to Gresham where he is now lo cated. Russel 0. Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Reed, arrived last week at New York from overseas. He was with the G84 Motor Transport. EASTERN CLACKAMAS NEWS Misses Roberta and Elizabeth Reid were home foi the Fourth from Portland. Miss Myrtle Looney is visiting at the hemes of W. T. and J. H. Looney in Salem. Mrs. E. V. Stubbs went to Gresham THtarsday evening for a visit of a few days. Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Jubb are attending the Chautauqua at Gladstone this week. Dr. Wells had the pleasure of a visit from his mother from Portland on the Fourth. . Phil Standish celebrated the Fourth here, returning to Port land Saturday afternoon. Mrs. John Dunseath and chil dren celebrated the Fourth at the Oaks park, Portland. J. M. Melton and family spent the Fourth in Portland with Mrs. Melton’s mother. They went in their car. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Kasmeyer of Portland, were Fourth of July and week end guests of Dr. and Mrs. McCall. Miss Mary Oakley, of Seattle, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. J. W. Reed, went to New- berg Saturday. Dr. Adix, wife and daughter Jean,, were in town Sunday from Gresham, being called to see a patient across the river. Dr. William Dale of Wood- stock, has been recommisioned as captain in the Medical Re serve for a period of five years. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hughes of Currinsville, had as week end guests, Mr. and Mrs. Ross, Mr. Kennedy and Miss Jennie Mar tin, all frem Portland. Mrs. Dan Matson and Miss Lydia *and Master Walter Matson have returned from Hood River where they had been visiting and picking strawberries. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bronson en tertained as Fourth of July guests, the father and mother* of Mrs. Bronson, Mr. and Mrs. Ing ram. also Miss Ingram and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. David Fleming, all of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. J. I). Stout were Fourth of July guests of the edi tor .and his wife. Mr. Stout is manager of the Yates Fischer teachers’ agency in Portland, and formerly Superintendent of the schools at LaGrande in East ern Oregon, during whose term of office the fine High School building at that place was built. They were accompanied by their daughter Imogene, who tho only fourteen is nearly thru high school and has just won a prize for music.
