Henry La Barre proprietor o f Log La Barre, made a pleasant call at this office Monday. Mrs. M. Delapp of Portland was in town Saturday looking after her property interests. We acknowledge a call from her. Leroy Walker president o f our bank, was here on Friday from Portland. The News acknow ledges a call. The Rev. J. Montcalm Brown accompanied by. a Mr. Coe of Gresham, called on the Rev. J. F. Dunlop Friday on business in connection with the centenary campaign. Mrs. Reed Woodworth and son Myron are spending a few days visiting relatives at Newberg and Portland. Miss Octavia Smith concluded her visit with her sister Mrs. Upton H. Gibbs, last Tuesday and left for her home at Clear water, Minnesota. She was accompanied by Mrs. Gibbs as far as Portland. Stephens leaves the lat ter part o f the week on a busi ness trip to Medford, to be gone several days. Mrs. Stephens will accompany him. By an error the titles o f the films at the Star theatre as ad vertised last week, were those for this week, hence their repiti- tion again in this week’s ad. Mrs. Jennie Wolcott, o f Port land, representing the Nu Bone Corset Co., visited Estacada Sat urday. She is planning a visit here shortly to demonstrate to our ladies the advantages o f the corset whose sale she is promot ing. J. W. Reed is thinking o f es tablishing in connection with his garage an aerodome, after seeing the flying circus the other day in Portland. He informs us he knows of several high flyers in the vicinity whom he thinks would be likely to want planes. The N e w s was in error last week, when it reported that the Estacada Clearing House had en gaged another store. John Page who has been in charge of it, has severed his connection and start ed up for himself in the store building adjoining I. M. Park. Roy Wilcox of the Cascade garage reports that business is still booming for him. This week he sold a new Dodge car to George Judd, a new Chevrolet Baby Grand to Walter Douglass and a used Ford to R. A. McFar- lane all o f Eagle Creek, and also a new 490 Chevrolet to Mellard Sarver o f Estacada. The high school student body will present its annual play, “ All- of-a Sudden Peggy,” Friday evening at 8 o ’clock. Tickets are on sale at the drug store and the town has been billed giving the program, etc. Those taking part have been conscientiously re hearsing and doing everything to insure a successful performance. The school orchestra will be heard between the acts. Tickets should sell like hot cakes. C. S. Allen and wife spent the week end in Portland. CTAR T H E A T R E Mrs. H. C. The Priscilla social club o f Cur- rinsviile, have arranged for a dance Saturday evening, in the Park pavilion.
