Portland when required. Those
wanting job work done, should
hand in the order at the beginning
of the week, so we can have
time to get the stock by Saturday.

Estacada,
Those who are inclined to
doubt any present-day war-time
application in the writings in the
Bible should read the following
passage taken from the eleventh
verse of the eleventh chapter of
the eleventh book: “ Forasmuch
as this is done of thee, and thou
hast not kept my covenant and
my statutes, which I have com
manded thee, I will surely rend
the kingdom from thee, and will
give it to thy servant.”
The same New York Bible stu
dent who found that verse also
figured that the armistice was
signed at the eleventh hour of
the eleventh day of the eleventh
month of the year. * Those who
have belief in the relation of
numbers and their meaning, may
find some importance to the many
elevens. It is, at least unsual.
The Portland Spectator.
To the Editor:
With an enrollment of 28 pu
pils, Currinsville school is making
good progress. The patrons and
school board show a lively inter
est in their school, and the child
ren themselves are hustlers.
The w ork of the Industrial club
has made a good start with Ruth
Whitehead as president, Emma
Jones as vice-president and Floyd
Hale as secretary. Two fine wal
nut trees have been planted in
the front lawn, and the children
are contemplating making flower
beds.
