Dales Will Smith o f Springwater made a business trip to Portland Wednesday. EASTERN CLACKAMAS NEWS A. L. Lasswell came down Sat urday from Portland. Mrs. Anna K. Morton spent the week-end in Portland. S. Peszneckér was another Estacada visitor 'at the metro polis Monday. E. S. Womer took a load o f supplies out to C. B. Boyer at the intake at South Forks, Saturday. Mrs. C. A. Jacques o f Garfield, went to Portland Thursday morning, returning S a tu r d a y noon. Mrs. Georgia Striclin of Glad stone is visiting her sister Mrs. B. O. Sarver. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Moore went to Portland Saturday, to spend the week end with Mrs. Moore’s parents. Mrs. Byers and her daughter Alta spent the week end with her husband who is working for the Clark & Wilson Lumber Co. at Linnton, Oregon. Will Closner. who has been suffering from the rheumatism, is now able to visit his parents in Springwater. G. W. Stetahouse o f Camas, Wash., has purchased an interest in the Estacada Garage from J. W. Reed. Mr. Stenbouse has moved into the cottage'form erly occupied by Mr. Rayburn. Ed. Boner returned Friday morning from Minnesota, where he had been called to St. Cloud last month, on account o f the death of an aunt. Apart from this event, he enjoyed his visit to his former home, meeting old friends and renewing acquaint ances. January was the most remarkable one in the memory o f the oldest inhabitant, the , thermometer seldom sinking to zero, and with little snow on the ground. Mr. Emery Closner and wife came over from Crow, Oregon, and are visiting with Mrs. Clos- ners parents, Mr. and M r s . Arthur Perrys at Garfield. M. C. Adlon has returned from his California trip. He went as far south as Los Angles and was very much impressed with appear ance o f that section o f the state. The Rev. J. F. Dunlop enjoys “ a feast of reason and flow o f soul,” so he went to Portland Monday morning to hear ‘ ‘the big fou r,” at the Northwest Con ference o f League to enforce peace. I Rev. H. C.
