ESTACADA, OREGON West Point Examinations Competitive examinations for appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point will be held at the University ot Oregon Monday, February 3d, 1919 beginning at 9 o’clock. These examinations will be open to all qualified young men who are residents of the First Congress ional District of Oregon. Candidates piust, be between 17 and 22 years of age at the time they enter the academy, must be not less than five feet four inches in height, and physically tit for military service. Candidates will be examined at the University both for physical titnc'ss and men tal preparation. The subjects covered in the mental examin ation are history, algebra, geo- grapl y, geometry and English grammar, composition and liter ature. • Society Doings Miss Kittie E. Reagan and B. F. Ulrich Doraise who has recent ly returned from France with his wife are visiting at the J. Sea- quist home. John Moger who has been at Camp Lewis received his honor able discharge from the army and returned to his home last Saturday. Russel! Sequisi entertained a number of his friends Saturday, Jan. 25th at his home in Spring- water. A delightful evening was spent playing games and danc ing. refreshments were served * • and all reported having had a most enjoyable time. Those present were Violet Sarver, Gladys Kandle. Mrs. Dick Gibson was the dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Steinmanof Currinsville, Sun day. Miss Frances Degerstedt spent the week-end with her parents, Capt. and Mrs. Victor Deger stedt. of Portland. Veterinary Wright, of Gresham accompanied by H. F. Gibson, of Barton, made a trip up to H.
