The Senior class has the best percentage out for football, be- 100% strong. Miss Mary Ingwood entered the Freshman class this week making twenty-five in all. Everybody be present on the football field Friday, Sept. 27th, to witness the annual clash be tween the Websterians and Adel- phics. Four minute speakers from the high school student body for Fri day’s program are; senior, E.ma Graham; junior, Tom McKay; Soph., Verner Anderson; Fresh man, Mary Malzinini. Next Friday, P. M. four min ute speches from the grades will be given by Laura D iiiglass, 8th Retha Ames, 7th; Leo Peszneker 6th; Harold Bronson, 5th; and Thos. Mendenhall, 4th; General exercises by primary grades. Representatives from Oregon City visited the high school Mon day, and arranged for a two game series o f football. The first game to be played at Ore gon City Oct. 25th the second to be played here November 27th. Coach Davis’s football “ hus kies” are rapidly rounding into condition. They will soon be ready to defeat any thing in the county. We have some of the best material the school has ever had. Some o f the old stand bys back in the game are: Sarver E. Smith, Lovelace, Heiple, Lich- thorn, Duncan and C. Anderson. Among the new “ giants” are Art’olter, V. Anderson, Murphy, Douglass, A. Hannah, Woodle Lovell and Coop. Next Friday, at 2:00 there will be a general assembly of the whole school in the auditorium. All parents and townspeople are requested to be present. The Junior Four Minute Speakers will have charge of the program and each grade in thaschool will have some part. Following the gener al program, there will be a meet ing of the teachers in Room 1 at which time a regular da> each month will be decided upon for teachers’ conference and the grading of papers will b* discus sed. Mrs. Kda Wood is once more behind the counters o f the East Clackamas Supply C o.’s store, after being awry about a month on account o f sick ness. Her place during her enforced absence was ably tilled by Mrs. Ava Bronson. S. E. Wooster and J. W. Reed driving to Portland Friday morn ing, and were about a mile and a half from town on the Currins- ville road, when they overtook H. C. Stephens. Mr. Reed wished to pass the latter but as he turned his car to go by, the steering gear balked with the result that the car turn ed turtle, pinning both him and Mr. Wooster under it. Mr. Step hens on seeing the accident stop ped and went to their rescue, and with other help managed to release them. Mr. Wooster was badly cut about the neck head and shoul ders, and bruised on arms and legs. He was brought to town where Dr. Adix rendered first aid. He rested a while in bed but got up during the afternoon and conducted business as usual. Mr. Reed though shaken was not seriously hurt and was able to proceed to Portland, but in another car. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Christen sen spent two weeks in Portland with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. C. Zurcher of Portland visited with relatives here on Sunday. Mrs. J. E. Schenk is visiting with her daughter, Mrs. G. M. Lawrence o f Portland. John Moger and Miss Ava Ow ens of Portland were Sunday vis itors at the J. F. Moger home. Mr. and Mrs. P. Erickson, Mrs. W. Strunk and Miss Mable Strunk and Mrs. Graham return ed Saturday, after a week’s visit on one of the Tillamook beaches. A farewell party was given on Friday evening, at the Rev. and Mrs. Welds’ home to John Schenk and Rae Erickson, both going to attend the U. of O. and Everett Shibley and James C l o s n e r who are attending at the 0."A. C. Each of the boys has enlisted in the S. A. T. C. at the said schools. An informal dinner was given in honor o f Sergeant Joe Erick son of the 677 Aero Sq’d ’ n. Mor rison Va. Cn Monday evening, at his parental home. Serg. Erick son was in charge o f prisoners from Va. to Omaha where he left his charges at a Camp, thence coming here where he is pay ing a short visit with his par ents and brother.
