pedestrians who have occasion to
pass along the sidwalk, or rather
the remains of a sidewalk, on the
north side of Fifth Street, be­
tween Main and Currin Sts.
Estacada; for under the crosswalk
at the alley reposes a big nest of
savage hornets and it is well to
give that spot plenty, of lea way.
Several adults and children have
already been stung by the in­
sects.
Mrs. T. I. Ashton of Ft. Dodge,
Iowa is a guest at the A. E.
Sparks home in Estacada, with
Mr. Ashton having spent a cay
here, as he is attending the G.
A. R. encampment in Portland
this week.

Earl Day of Estacada returned
Friday, from a month’s vacation
in Sherman County where he aid­
ed in the harvesting, making his
little $6. per day for driving a
four horse outfit. Earl says he
could just as well have driven
eight horses and earned $12. hut
there was a scarcity of horses.
During Ea^Ts absence, the U. S.
mail delivery on Estacada R. F.
I). No. 2 was well cared for by
Mrs. Day.

Eagle Creek Grange met at the
Grange Hall Saturday with 20
patrons present. A short busi­
ness session was held and an in­
teresting program rendered.
M. V. Thomas of Sandy wras a
Grange visi on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Douglass
were the dinner guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Wooclleon Sunday.
Mrs. R. B. Gibson visited with
Mrs. Henry Udell of Dover Sun­
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Douglass
were guests at the home of Oscar
Benson, of Logan, on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wilcox en­
tertained the latters mother. Mrs.
Nora Reid of Portland, for a
couple of days recently.
