Fred Zurcher spent a few days with relatives in Silverton this week. Mrs. Grace Davis who spent the last three weeks at Long Beach, Wash, returned home last week. C. M. Davis of Canada has re turned to his farm here, where he will harvest his grain. Mr. and Mrs. A. Eggiman of Prattum, Oregon were visitors at the Zurcher home last week. The C. E. Society held their business and social meeting at the Shibley h o m e Wednesday evening. Mrs. L. N. Smith and son Clin ton visited at Camas, Wash, the past week. A birthday party was tender ed to Elva and Everett Shibley on Monday, J u l y 15th, games were played on the lawn, after which refreshments were served. Mrs. Will Bard of Springwater now' has a hydrangea plant in her yard which is causing con siderable wonder and admiration, having 116 clusters of blooms on it now and fully fifty more which will be in blossom before the present ones fade. Mrs. Fletcher returned home last week from an extended visit at the home of her brother who lives at Bridal Veil, Or. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hoffmeister Miss Myrtle Hoffmeister, Ruby and Victor Hotfmeister and Mrs. R. B. Gibson attended Chautau qua last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Douglass and Mrs. R. B. Gibson were Chautauqua visitors last Wednes day. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Brash are again at home after a short visit w ith relatives at DeMoss Springs. Mr. and Mrs. William Stubbe of Estacada visited with Mrs. Viola Douglass Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Nora Reid of Portland was the guest of her daughter. Mrs. Guy Wilcox, Sunday. Alex. Baker is building an ad dition onto A. N. Orke’s house. Dr. and Mrs. Harry Morgan, of Wasco, arrived at the home of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Woodle on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Waiter Douglass and daughters. Mildred and Flo- rice, left on Sunday, for Glad stone Park, where they intend to camp during the remainder of Chautauqua. Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Lilburn of Roseburg were week-end guests at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lee A. Wells of Estacada. Mr. Lilburn is enlisted in the army technical training course at the Benson Polytechnic Institute in Portland.
