G rades To Strive For Flag
G eorge G oings On
In conjunction with the Prohi­
bition Rally, oceuring Wednes­
day evening, February 27th at
the Estacada High School Audi­
torium, when George W. Morrow
of Michigan will he the leading
speaker a six by four foot fiag
has been donated to the school­
room or grade of the Estacada
schools, which obtains the larg­
est number of votes from persons
attending this meeting.

good milk cows last week to Wm.

Mrs. Fanton, who has been vis­
iting her daughter Mrs. Theo.
Harders, is now visiting at the
home of her other daughter, Mrs.
Robert Shyder of Garfield.
Otto Jannsen and Albert. Lins
are now numbered among the
victims of the present epidemic
of mumps.
The George Industrial Club met
Friday afternoon at the school.
Gladys Joyner left for Portland
Saturday, where she will remain
for a month or two, taking a
special cdurse of studies.

Mrs. Henry Heiple, treasurer
of the Currinsville Priscilla Club,
last week handed “ye editor” ,
as head of the Estacada Red
Cross Auxiliary, a check for $50.,
being a donation from that soci­
ety. The check was duly turned
over to Mrs. M. H. Evans, treas­
urer of the local auxiliary,, who
in turn passed it on to the Port­
land headquarters. Mrs. Evans
also deposited $5., in payment of
five additional Red Cross mem­
berships taken at the News office.
No good news has yet been
heard by the parents of Verner
G. Branland of Colton, who it is
feared lo$t his life in theTuscan-
ia disaster. All other Clackamas
County boys on the ill-fated ves­
sel have been accounted for but
it is feared young Branland was
drowned.

Mr. Morrow’s subject will be
“Over the Top fo ra Dry Ameri­
ca” . This is one of hundreds of
Dr\ America rallies now being
conducted by the Anti-Saloon
League of America, with speak­
ers of national fame.
Postmaster Win. Moran of
Boring was last week taken with
a severe attack of acute appen­
dicitis. i cing removed immedi­
ately to a P o r t l a n d hospital,
where Dr. Adix removed the of­
fending organ. Mr. Moran is
now getting along finely.
Miss i ora Gun in of Currins-
ville is expected home from the
Ik of O. Wednesday of this week,
remaining over Sunday.
At lust week’s Annual Gat and
Rabbit Show in Portland, Mrs.
F. L. ihyltmm of Estacada was
awarded the grand prize for the
largest exhi'i: of cats; the prize
being a > \\ ml'ered by the asso­
ciation.
