E. H. S. Echoes At Fridays Student Body meet ing, the following officers were elected—Otto Jannsen, P res.- Elizabeth Mikulecky, Secy. Beatrice Tracy, V. P. — Erica Johnson, Treas.—Ruby Me Wil lis, Yell Leader, with Basil Man- love, Asst.— Ervie Lovell, Ser geant Arms. Bob Ewalt. formerly of E. H. S. but now a U. S. Marine, gave a talk on his experiences, before the school last Friday. Miss Dillon of the faculty, at tended the County Teachers’ As sn. Saturday and read a paper on “ Elective Subjects for High School Students” . Our new principal, Mr. Wilson has been elected advisor of the Industrial Club work of the grammar school for the summer. Gilbert Cortright is reported to be doing well in Eastern Ore gon, being ready to begin plant ing as soon as the water recedes from his lands. The pupils took down the guard frames from around the school yard trees on Clean-Up-Day. The deceased, who with his family had resided in this district for the past two years, was a highly respected neighbor and the sympathy of all is extended the grieving wife, daughters and son. A meeting was held in Wil burn’s Hall, Eagle Creek, last Saturday afternoon, for the pur pose of organizing an Agricultur al Council of Defence. A coun cil was organized, which is to be known as the Eagle Creek Coun cil of Defence and it will cooper ate with the County Council. The following officers were elected; M. C. Glover, President- and Millard Trullinger, Secreta ry .— A Ways and Means com mittee was appointed consisting of Henry Udell, Pete Clester, J. T. Roweclitfe, Ben Forrester and Roy Munger. A committee was appointed to meet with the Esta cada Council Monday night, to rtx the boundary lines for Coun- c.i, said committee being; A. D. Burnett, H. S. Mr. Opstad spent Wednesday here, going over details o f the plant now under construction.
