Dover Doings (Contributed) Mr. and Mrs. J. Steel are at Latourell Falls, where they were called to aid in caring for their grandchildren, who are ill with measles. A number of the local Stock holders of the Mt. Hood Cream ery attended a recent special meeting of that organization. The name of the organization was changed to The Sandy Creamery Company and fhe shares were reduced from $100. to $10 each. Fred Anderson suffered the loss of a horse last week from the epidemic of colic, which is preva lent among the animals of this district. As a result of the recent rival ry in obtaining new members for the Organized Young Peoples’ Sunday School Class, the winning side, known as the “blue ribbon- ers” will be treated to a fine sup per next Friday evening, by the “white ribboners,” the losers. Rules Of Library The Library committee of the Estacada Public Library held a meeting Monday afternoon and after arranging for Mrs. A. K. Morton to resume her position as librarian, ordered that the follow ing rule be made effective at once: — "A fine of 5c a day shall be collected upon all books overdue; provided how ever, that no fine be levied that shall exceed the purchase price of the books. Your BECKWITH Home Jeweler Watch Repairing A Specialty ESTACADA, - OREGON Rural Phone Lines To Cooperate On Improvements At the meeting held in Eagle Creek last Monday, the members of the seven rural phone compan ies, with lines in Currinsville, Eagle Creek, UpperEagle Creek, Dover etc, decided to unite forc es in the improvement of their main pole lines. For this purpose a committee of two members from each com pany was appointed to meet at Ely’s Hall in Currinsville next Friday afternoon, when a plan will be perfected for the erection of new poles extending from the Eagle Creek Grange Hall to the Estacada central station, the pol es to accomodate the lines of the various companies. Im portant Notice In view of the fact that the Portland Railway, Light & Pow er Company will change from a 33-cycle to a 60-cycle service, on or about March 15, it is import ant that all those now using 33- cvcle motors should notify the Company at once so that it may have an opportunitity of chang ing this apparatus to 60-cycle apparatus before the date the new service is actually put into effect. Fruit Growers Attention The Oregon Agricultural Col lege, through its Extension De partment, has selected a block of the Wonacott and Krigbaum or chards in Garfield, for this year’s spraying school. This spraying school is the only one in the state this year and will be conducted by experts, un der the direction of Prof. Brown, tor the control of fungus diseas es and insect pests of the apple. All lectures and demonstrations are free and all interested parties are urged to be present. The dates on which the demon strations and lectures will occur will be duly advertised in the Eastern Clackamas News, but as these dates may be subject to change on short notice, owing to weather conditions, all parties desiring to be present, should at once advise A.
