De spite the fact that the only time that Clackamas County ever won the first prize at a State Fair, was when the exhibit was in charge of ye editor, a few years ago -yt editor was never urged to assume the reponsibilities a sec ond time, for newspaper men oc casionally ferret out and disclose matters of interest to taxpayers, that might better be kept among the relics of political oblivion . Judge Dimick is doing a good work for the hog and corn rais ing interests of this county and the residents of this county would be much better off if the Hon? Grant would spend more time in rural pursuits and less in threat ening political oblivion to all Clackamas representatives, who do not play the game of politics to suit him and his gang. In conclusion, let it be said, that as long as the Eastern Clack amas News is edited, published and owned by the present man agement it will continue along those Fire-Brand lines attempting in its feeble way to act as a beacon to the home taxpayers, guiding them to political safety, economy and a better home comm unity- lighting their way to contentment, peaceful living and a just pride in the home county and always casting its glow into the dark cor ners, disclosing the rottenness and filth of the political corrup tion that has characterized a cer tain phase of Oregon City's life and has dominated Clackamas County for the past fifty years.
