Scarifying The Main Road Supervisor Frank Millard of the Springwater district dropped into the News office last week to mention ihat he had completed scarifying the main Springwater road between the Folsom corner and the top of the hill near the Schmidt place. At first the editor was stump- I ed to discover just what scarify j meant, but an examination of a dictionary, showed that Frank [and his crew, “defaced, scrateh- j ed, disfigured or covered with ¡scars,” t h e above mentioned j road. After scarifying same, he regraded and rolled it into good shape for tiavei. Good road work is also going ¡on in the Currinsville district, ¡with Supervisor Kitching and ¡crew now cutting away a n d I graveling the hill near the Wil bur Wade and Ely places.
