Practical Pruning Demonstration Dorcas Notes On Saturday last, twenty-two o f the ladies o f Garfield met at Bannockburn Ranch and enjoyed a luncheon given in honor o f “ Miss Satterlee and the young ladies o f her seminary.” In behalf o f the society, Mrs. Reid voiced a cordial welcome, which was responded to by Miss Satterlee (Miss Roberta Reid). Kathleen (Miss Esther Revell) in her rich Irish brogue respond ed to the toast "Burnt Toast” and Mrs. Kate Botkin cleverly spoke on “ The Leap Year Girl and her Opportunity.” The Dorcas Society will meet for an all day session with Mrs. H. A. LaBarre, on March 16th, all members and friends are in vited. M. on the Spring- water farm o f R. D. Tracy. Horticultural Commissioner Jas. Pomeroy will conduct the demonstration, dealing especial ly with the proper pruning and spraying to l>e used in the reno vating o f old orchards. Many farmers have requested the county inspector to arrange such a demonstration and it is hoped that all interested will be present.
