Givens was pleasantly sur prised when on going to church on Sunday morning last, he found that during his absence, extensive re pairs had been made on the interior of tbe church The Ladies Aid Society of the Christian church wishing to show Mr. Givens their appreciation of services rendered the church, had the floor of tbe pulpit platform raised aud carpeted. Carpets were also laid on the floor in the aisles of tbe church and a ailing built around tbe pulpit. Mr. Givens previous to the regular ser vice made a short address, thanking the ladies for their kindnesa to him and the spirit in which it was given. Mr. Givens has filled the pulpit in the church for toe past year in a way that reflects great credit not only on himself and congregation but the community as well.
