Labor from Es'acada will be employed as far as possible on the construction. We are informed that the Estacada fire department will open the pavillion with a grand ball. An Editor on Duty Most anybody can be an editor. All ai editor has to do is to sit at his desk six days in the week, four weeks in the month, and twelve months in the year, and “ edit" such stuff as this, says the Boston ’ •Globe.” “ Mrs. Jones, of Lost Creek, let a can opener slip last week and cut herself in the pautrv.” “ A mischievous lad of Buiigtown threw a stone and struck acompan ion in the alley last Tuesday.” “ John Doe climbed on the roof of the house last week looking for a leak, and fill, striking htmself on the back porch.” “ While Herold Green was escort ing Miss Viola Wise from a church social last Saturday night a savage- dog attacked them and bit Mr Green on the public square.” "Isaiah Trimmer, ot Lebanon, wass playing with a cat Friday when it scratched him on the veranda.'’ “ Mr. White, while harnessing a broncho last Saturday, was kicked just south of the corncrib. ” Anybody can “ edit” a news paper. It's the easiest job and the softest snap in the world. The district forester, with head quarters at Portland, will start any one who wishes, in the business of growing basket willows Cuttings may be had free on application as the Government is carrying on in vestigations to determine the varie ties best suited to this state. Dairy O pportunies There is a great opportunity for! dairying around Estacada. There is a great deal of hill land which is excellent for grazing but not worth much for anyth'ng else With transportation facilities such as Estacada has there is no reason why a creamery here could not take- all the cream which the farmers could send. The fanners would receive more for their cream than they receive now for theii butter and they would not have all the bother of nuking butter and hauling it into town. The creamery wagons would come out and get the cream two or three times a week. There would be a large profit in it for the farmers and it would get a little more business life into the town.
