S O M E R , If everybody in this community would bank their mon ey right here at home, instead of hoarding, or sending it away, it would help everybody in this community. It is merely SELF PROTECTION and SELF DEVELOPMENT for us to keep our money right here and help ourselves. We will gladly give counsel to anyone wanting our ad vice— especially if we can steer you away from investments ! which might cause you loss. Good Thing for Every Town R. D. Thomas of Portland, who recently purchased <* portion of the John Stormer farm across the Clackamas, was in town Thursday afternoon for a load of furniture and supplies to begin housekeeping ou his property. His family lias alresdy joined him, The coming of Mr. Thomas and his purchases, shows what every newcomer will and does do for Estacada. Practi cally every settler is good for from $1,000 to $2,000 the first year which is distributed among the business people of Estacada. Hence, when anybody objects to paying the small amount of dues to the Commercial club and inquires pessimistically what good such an institution is to a town, such in stances as the coming of Mr. Thomas to this community, is a good and sufficient answer. To the Commercial clubs of every live town in Oregon—and every live one has such an institution—much of the credit of settling the country, may be given. They deserve sup port. ________ TIME IS MONEY We need the latter.
