Daily weather forecasts are being
received in Estacada by Postmaster
E. F. Surface.
These reports are
sent out by the government weath

the postoffice.
On Friday of this week the Esta

Church services will be held at
Currinsville Sunday in the forenoon,
at Zion in the afternoon, and at Es-

Rev. Par-

John C. Tracey took the returns
of Estacada election precinct to the
county seat.
It is a misnomer to apply the
word “ republican” to any party in
Oregon. Down in Clatsop county,
the home of Senator Fulton, the lat

Socialism, and the principles for
which the socialists stand, were de
fended by “ Buzz’ ’ Thomas in Odd
fellow hall last Thursday evening,
in a very entertaining speech. Mr
Thomas told a great many truths,
and some things we can not agree
with him ou.
A 1 Lindsey measured the depth
of the Clackamas river under the
high bridge, and found it only a
trifle more than 23 feet deep. This
does away with the old theory that
the river at that place is bottom
less. Many years ago, the story
goes, a rancher was driving a heard
of cattle across the old bridge here,
and it gave 'way and precipitated
the whole outfit into the water.
Nothing was ever heard of them a-
gain for months, until a report come
from China saying that a drove of
