church was here again Monday and

J. W. Reed was given the con­
tract to construct the reservoir for
O. W P. St Ry Company at its Co­
nev Island resort and he has liec-n
down there all the week superin-
tending the work.
H. W. Green and family have
gone to Oregon City to spend a few
weeks with Mr. Green's people, and
from there they will goto Scio where
Mrs. Green's parents live.
They
expect to be gone about two months,
that Mr. Shultz will invest here.
Mrs. J. W . Shafford returned to
Estacada Sunday evening after sev­
eral weeks spent in Portland and
elsewhere. While away Mrs. Shaf­
ford availed herself of the oppor­
tunity and attended the special short
course in farm husbandry as taught
at the State Agricultural College at
Corvallis extending from January 9
to the acth inclusive.
Very little
is known by the farmers generally
of the great good to t>e gainer! by
attending this “ Short Course’ ’ or
there_ would be a much greater at-
tendance from among them.

course is given each year.
