N INDIAN'S WEAPON (By Theodore Kirsch) . Long ago Indinns used bojf and arrows for weapons. They killed game and wild animals with them. They even ured them when they fought In wars. .Their bows were made out of a piece of ash or red cedar about five feet long and about an inch thick. They faRtened a ?ord of buck skin to each end form ing a bow. Their arrows were made from nny straight-grained wood. They were about three feet ong, one half inch thick, tipped with a hard rock called flint which they found in the sand beds With tools of stone they chipped a piece of flint until it had a point on it. This was the arrowhead, about one-half inch long, one-fourth inch thick and one inch wide. Then they fastcne'd it .to the end of the t tick. There were some savngos that dipped their ar rows in the poition so when "it hit anyone it killed him.
