Morrison, Publisher Subscription: One Year $1.50, Six Entered as Becond class mail matter September 2, 1914. at the post office at Maupin, Oregon, under the Act of March 3, 1879, Tygh Valley Tygh Valley ball news: lygh Valley played Hosier, Sunday, May 16th Mosier put up a very poor game, but good naturedly took an 8 to 0 beating. Neither side played good ball. The Mosier boys arrived late- and were in poor condition after their long trip. The game was well attended. Tygh will play The Dalles here next Sunday. Dr. Shannon took J. T. Harper to The Dalles Hospital Monday Mrs. Harper accompanied him Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bullis of Hoskins are taking care o! the store. Mrs- Bullis was formerly Miss Jeannette Harper and well known in this vicinity. Mr, Harper is reported to be slightly improved. Mies McKay is visiting with Dr and and Mrs. Shannon at present Hauser & Dahl are through .u.,.,., A Kistner's crew nliared for them, The farmer's picnic Thursday was well attended. Mr. Grimes was compelled to leave bis car at Grants Pass and make the rest of the journey by train. Tourists are beginning to show up Several camped in Van Duyn park every night, if the mosquitos wovld start to bite we would be' gin to think of summer. Fishing has been yery poor in Tygh and Badger streams even with high water. We suppose the fish are not as plentiful as tbey ought to be. There are two ways to keep fish in there streams either restock and close for two years or build a fish ladder at White River falls. We would recommend a fish ladder, first as being a more permanent source of supply, and secondly to enforce a closed season ou these streams would be impossible without con siderable expense In policing them Wamic News Woodcock & Kennedy saw mill is making lumber now, having commenced week before last. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Richardson have moved from Seattle, Wn. to Berkley, Cal. Mrs. Richardson was sormerly Miss Eunice Luca ef this place. The families of the Mayfield's who have resided here for several years have movek to Yakima, Wn where tbey have pnrchased land. Mrs. Annie Bird who has been critically ill is somewhat improved Willie aud Vernie Norvel were Dalles yisitors last Thursday. Fred Bichsel and family were Dalles visitors Thursday. Vernie Norvel has bought the Fred Blch sel place, paying $1000. J. E. Kennedy made a trip to Wrentbam Thursday goiug on to The Dalles. Miss Lucile Kennedy returned from Portland Wednesday. A social was given in the Smock school house Frsday night. The suuds received were sufficient to complete the remaining payments ou their graphanola. Claris Zumwalt, Addie Duncan, Owen Magill and Virgil MoMurry took the eighth garade exatuina tion last week. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Savage left Monday for Yakima where they will make their future home.
