They chang el their time of meeting from Friday to Wednesday afternoons and will meet every two weeks during the spring work. Next meeting wijl be March 26. All ladies are invited to attend and bring their thimbles as there is plenty of work to do. Rev. Geo. E. McDonald will be "here and have charge oftbeter vices, Sunday March 30, aud will also hold quarterly mooting. All are invited to attend. Lincoln Hartman is quite busy hauling freight from Maupin. - David Sharpe spent several days at R. W. McCorkle's last week repairing his car. There is a rumor here that 0 L. Paquet is talking of erecting a garage in the near future. At White River Born March 10 to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Haynes a 10 pound son. Kay Tunison is camped near the power plant and taking David Hess' place while Mr. 11 ess is looking after property near The Dalles. Ernest Webb went to Portland recently and purchased a 90 model Overland, Dr. Elwood was in our neigh borhood Sunday to soe Mrs. Arthur Ashley who will he taken to Maupin for treatment. Emmet Zumwalt is now driving stage to Sherar. He says the roads are fine. Harry Brown got his hand mashed aud Dr. Shannon dressed it for him. Miss Bessie Bouney went to The Dalles to attend her sister's. Mrs. H. S. WoolSey, funeral. We weie sad to hear of her death.. A little shower in this part of the country is making the grass look just fine, E. S. Doering has been doitip some fine road irading. Baxter and Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Winifree motored up from Portland over the highway arriv ing here Tuesday. Mr. Baxter's Ford is the first machine to go over the highway in six weeks.
