Joe Graham returned home from The Dalles a few days ago where he has been taking medical treat ment at the hoppital. Chester Rice arrived home Mon day from F.stacada, will remain till Thursday. He . leaves Tl.e Dalles Friday for Ft. McDowell. Bill Foreman also goes there. The meetiugs conducted by Rev. Epley are well attended. A large crowd was present at the service and basket dinner Sunday. A ni mber were up from Tygh Valley and Maupin. The Hedin ditch crew are build ing a ndw ditch from the main one to Walter Woodside's and Jim Hartman's, and the water has now reached their farms. Some of the farmers of this sec tion shipped a car load of cattle to Portland Sunday. O. L. Taqnet went with them. School closed Lere Friday. Mr. and Mrs-. Bernard Huston and Miss Reva were over -from Dufur Sunday. Walter Driver was selling beef hera Saturday. Ed Davis is logging for the Hedin saw mill this week. V. B. Tapp, Archie and Vin cent spent several days in The Dalles last week. They returned in a new Overland which they purchased while there, B. L. 'Jor.unan was a Dalles vif-itor Sunday. Miss Nellie Hunt came up from the Mountain View ranch Saturday Unusually cool weather has been experienced here the past week; frost and freezing of ice almost eyery night. Mrs. Mary.Gillis went to Walla Walla, Wn., and to Portland last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Fubanks and son Vivian were Maupin vis itors Saturday. Harry McMurray and Housty Johnson attended the dance at Maupin Saturday night. J. Johnson made some repairs to his stage aulo yesterday. Percy Driver, Mrs. Jessie Wood cock and son Leslie visited Maupin Friday. Mrs. Laura Driver nan on the sick list last week. Mr. and Mrs J. E. Kennedy went to Slierar Thursday. David Mayfield has leased the T. Jones farm on Smock. School closed here Friday. Organizing . n A temporary organization was perfected Sunday establishing a Chriatain church in Maupin with eighteen members. Rev.
