CANARY. Ore., July 20.--S. J.
Kernan, of Reedsoort who has
taken the contract to gravel the
two mile of road from Canary
and to the top of Beirydale hill,'
arrived at Canary Thursday eve
ning with his crew of men and
four gravel trucks. Mr. Kernan
will have a haul of from three to
five miles and wilt run a 14-hour
shift as he hopea to get the work
done In four days as he has taken
the contract to gravel the twelve-
mile road between Iteedsport and
Lakeside.
L. N. Austin, road oatrolman of
district No. 69, has a crew going
aitead of Mr. Kernan, preparing
the road for the gravel which be
gan arriving at Canary Friday
morning Mr. Austin also has a
crew at work graveling the upper
Fiddle creek road. The Mar
tin Brothers of Ada are running a
giavel truck day and night to take
advantage of the dry weather.
