Louis Melvin Coy. 20, was ar
rested yesterday afternoon by Van
Svarverud, chief deputy .sheriff on
a warrant issued last August charg
ing him with forging the name of
Guy Pyle, local paving contractor,
to checks.
It is alleged that he passed a
number of such checks in June,
but that the forgery Was not dis
covered until August.
One of the checks, it is alleged,
was pos-sed at the Brownsvillo
Woolen Mill store. Yesterday about
5 p. in. Jesse Inman, manager of
the tore( saw Coy on the street
and called the sheriff's office.
Deputy Svarverud had to run
several blocks before he could
catch up with him.
