Banks, America's champion checker player, will ap pear In Albany at the chamber of commerce, about January 11, un der the auspices of the Albany Chess and Checker club. He will give an exhibition in simultaneous and blindfold play, playing 30 boards of both chess and checkers simultaneously, and six boards blindfolded, all at the same time, also carryins on a general conver sation during the play. Mr. Banks was overseas, a mem ber of the A. E. F. and while in Paris gave a similar exhibition and did not lose a game. . Mr. Banks has never been equaled, in the opinion of experts, as a blindfolded' player. Hei has played simultaneously as hleh as 20 boards blindfolded. Recently he played blindfolded 10 masters of the game. Including Alfred Jordan, retired champion of Scotland and England, winning two and drawing eight which Is said to be an un paralleled achievement.
