Hobby I'lurko. who waa knocked down four limes by Lillard In their first meeting two weeks ago. camo back with twice as much stuff and punched the Kugcno hoy to a fair draw. Lillard failed to got his knockout going and took Just about as many as he gave. Time 'after time he rapped Bobby Clark's head back with hard rights but with not enough steam behind them to put his opponent down. The fight be came Interesting in the second round and It looked like Lillard was going to get in some telling punches when he knocked' Clarko to the floor with a hard right for the count of seven. After that Clarko was more wary and kept out of tho way of Lillurd's lends. Hoth mixed in at tho opetilug gong but In the succeeding rounds Clarko danced around the outside of tho ring with Lllltud In the ceuter, wailing for an opening. Clarke began working good In tho third round and punched the claret from Llllard's nose. He got in some good clean blows. Lillard looked as If ho would be going In his old form in the fourth round when ho pounded Clnrko Into tho ropes with a fusilude of blows but none of thorn had the proper drive behind them. From then on tho fight dulled with Clarke dancing around the ring. occasslonully driving Into Lillard in the center. Tho exchange of occasionally driving Into Llllnrd landing some hard ones out getting jabs in return. They clinched often. both bolng about even at this game, with Clarke holding on most of tho time. How-1 ever he played safe and as tho final gong sounded ho was retreating from Llllard's boring m becauso In the last flying of gloves tno h.u geninn was trying hard for a knockout. Both men weighed 122 pounds. The second bout between Georgo Dixon of Portland and Carl Mil ler of Eugene ut 146 pounds was. slow. Both fighters sparred, through the ten rounds and failed I to mix In. The fighters failed to mix. George IJixon. however, had the Bhade over the Eugene boy in boxing ability but ho railed to bark It up with, a punch. .Miller had a good punch but he failed to lund It. Try as he would he could not, get a hard drive on the brown boy. As the gong ended Miller was on, his knees with a count of four from a shady blow of Dixon's. He sank to tho floor near the end of tho round and had to be lifted from his corner. The blow aroused some doubt hut the decision was a draw. Mugging Honors Kvcn Miller evidently failed to got going. Tho knockout drive which he has used to floor his two for mer opponents was not as useful as it was formerly. They sparred for the biggest part of the contest, with Dixon as the aggressor. In the slugging which started in tho third round the honors wero even.
