The noon-hour basketball cam or
scheduled for the next few weeks

at each game and interest was
high. These games are among the
different gym clusses and when the
final game is played the survivor
of the scries will be declared the
champion team of tho gym classes.
As soon as vollyball equipment is
secured. Miss Agee will arrange
two games of volley ball a week for
her gym classes, the bpys playing
banket, Kill 0n the other days.
Tho object of these games is to
provide activity for the students at
noon during tho bad weather when
they cannot be outdoors and to
givo an opportunity to many stu
dents to play who would not be
able to make the regular squad
that will represent th- school in
the big games this winter. -
Aloro than 40 boys have turned
out for basketball in the hopes of
making tne couao. Mr. Dawson had
cm this nurnhe to about 25 and
will eliminate other until fifteen
of the best payers available are
left on the tquad. After the final
squad has Ix-en chosen efforts will
be devoted to perfecting team play.

Harold A. Rowley, former Oregon

23 players will make its fourth
public appearance at the Christmas
assembly and is now practicing
music to ne played at that time.

A small room on the second floor
is to bo fitted up soon for a girls'
rest room. All the furnishings are
to be provided by girls of Miss
Agee's gym classes and it is ex
pected that the room will become
one that all the girls will be proud ,
of and that will provide a much
needed addition to the facilities of
the building.
A committee of teachers consist
ing of Mrs. Morrow, Miss Groves
and Miss Agee is working on plans
to provide the lady teachers' rest
room with furniture.
Eight art screens to be used in
the art room and on the auditor
ium stage have been made in the
manual training department re
cently. Four benches to be used
in the boys and girls' dressing
rooms have also been made and
work has been started on a type
writer table for the office. The man
ual training department ,1s a busy
one these dnys with boys working
before and after school In an effort
to completo projects Intended to
serve as Christmas presents for the
home folks. Even on Saturday
a number of boys spend consider-.
a iio time in tne snop.
Tables in tho homo economics
department are laden with fine
candles made by the students un
der tho supervision of Mrs. Hillman
and Miss Hadloy. Theno candles
will be sold before the holidays to
students nnd patrons of the school
nnd the money, turned back to the
department for further prac
tice work. Much' of tho better
kinds of candy will be boxed and
sold tn patrons, but the rest wii!
be sold In the halls.
Such immensely practical and friendly little gifts but
above all so useful! Not' to be laid away in some ob
scure drawer and forgotten but to be used daily and
appreciated. Everyone welcomes handkerchiefs and at
our store now even after weeks of intensive selling you
will find the stocks fresh and clean and the selections
satisfying.
