ence, who left Kiigen yesterday
morning for Seattle. Tho biggest
question perhaps to come before
the body will bo the. matter of par
ticipation for freshmen. This will
affect the future of tho Pacific
coast colleges very materially.
At the last meeting several con
ference schools were in favor of
nbolishing freshman sports, but
nothing definite was decided upon.
Professor Howe said. The whole
question will be threshed out and
H will be definitely decided wheth
er or not the colleges will continue
the first year auorts.

of trouble by constantly flunking
out of school. It takes about a year
to get accustomed to college life

work." said Professor Howe.

game at Detroit despite injuries he
suffered in today's game between
the Chicago Bears and the Pitts
burgh All-Stars.
While the galloping ghost of tne
gridiron was confined to his room
in the Schenly hotel under the care
of a physician, George Hallas,
manager of the Bears, said ho ex
pected Grange to be able to re
sume playing In three or four days.
Dr. Gustav Berg, physician of the
Pittsburg baseball club was not so
optimistic.
