Forty -two names were on lh
flunking list which was pouted
Tuesday morning. Jimt think,
forty -two names, that's quite n
lm; number and some wore post
ed for more than one subject.
What's the trouble, anyway? Are
the students dumb or Just plain
ltiy? Nik they probnbly nren't
ell Iter because It Isn't n practice of
uur school to enroll this kind of
buys and girls. If n pupil Is nbneut
from his or her class tho assign
ment may be secured from some of
the members of the class and enn
be made up. Hut If you're the
put-lt-uff type of student you will
noKtcct your studies and ns a re
Hii't your name will appear with
other Hunker. And then you'll
make n big fuss ubobut It, "1 Just
know I'm as good ns Mary Is In
history and my toucher hasn't any
right to flunk me." Hut If you
would knuckle down and take nn
Interest In preparing your work,
vour name would bo more likely on
the honor roll Instead of the other
list. Kveu If a particular subject
or subjects does not appeal to you;
vou should try to like It and the
consequence will more than likely
remit In your grade being raised.
However, a good many ef the
mimes represented tho Junior di
vision of our school. A numhr
of persons were posted for typing
and mnthemntlcs were about the
same. Students! Let ua decrease
our flunking list considerably and
endeavor to make University high
school one of high scholarship of
which we may all be proud.
