Moore, who is entertaining at bridge on Monday; Mrs. Ptulus Van Delnse. a luncheon hostess for Tuesday; and Mrs. i'rod Hruby, also a luncheon hostess on Tuesday. Another activ ity of interest to many Is the wom en's annual fall handicap tournament at the Eugene Golf and Country club which goes Into Its second rounds next week. King returned this Week from I -a Grunde where she had been making an oztenslva visit. AT PENDLETON Mr. and Mrs. I-ynn 8. McCready are expected home this week-end from Pendleton where they have boen for the Itound-up. HOME FROM TRIP Mrs. Clura Pitch and daughter, Miss Jnnet Fitch, arrived home thin week from their year abroad. Miss Mary Fitch remained In Paris for a time longer and Miss Elinor Fitch is staying in the east U continue school. Mrs. Fitch and three daughters have been away a year. D. A. R, MEETING Members of the Oregon Lewis end Clark chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, began an in teresting year on Tuesday of this week when they hold their fimt meeting as a luncheon gathering at the Oaburn hotel as a suedal ob servance of Constitution day. Dean Charles E. Carpenter of tho univer sity school of law gave an address on "Democracy and. Our Constitution." At the business meeting It eras voted to have a cooked food and rummage sale on October 19. The ways and means committee will be In charge and funds are to be used In aiding the international house on the cam pus. Mrs. W. Si. Miner waa chair man of the committee of hostesses for the day.
