uotations, the price of Imttorfat was
advanced today to 47c station and 40c
delivered Portland. The track price
was not quoted.
Receipt of the first carload of new
crop comb honey from Idaho wns
reported today. It wholesales for $5
per frame of 12 ounces and $4.75 per
frame of 10 ounces. It is the fam
ous Cloverlenf brand.
Heart of gold melons, somewhat of
a cross lie t ween a watermelon and a
cantaloupe, grown in the Dayton
Yainhill section, are on the market at
4c a pound. They are reported to be
delicious.

Tacoma Dies Here
Mrs. .Tane Stewart, of Tacoma,
Wash., died Wednesday morning.
August 21, at the home of her
sister, Mrs. A. -K. Thurston, 0H7
Hilyard street, at the age of 77
years. Mrs. Stewart is a member
of the First Presbyterian church, of
Tacoma, ami a member of the degree
of honor, of Tmt!0, Waah.
Mrs. Stewart is survived hr one
daughter, Mrs. J. If. Nichols, of
Tacoma, and one son, W. J. Stewart,
of Seattle.
The remains will he sent from the
Watch funeral home to Tenino for
interment In the family plot.

Cereals: Imsated corn Is doing
well, and the same in true of some
nnirngated fields that nave been
well cultivated, but most uuirrigatcd
corn is badly in need of rain.
Kruita: nckinc or Hartietr. Dears
in progress in the Rogue River val
ley, and will begin in the Willamette
valley in about a week. Pears and
apples are doing well. Prunes are
approaching maturity, and picking
will begin In the warmer districts
this week. Peaches are coming into
the market in small quantities.
Meadows, pastures and ranges:
Haying Is generally complete except,
for the later cuttings of alfalfa, and
in the Willamette valley baling has
been mostly done. Alfalfa Is doing
well where here Is sufficient water.
Domestic pastures contlnuea ary, ana

effect of continued drought.
Live stock: Drying tin of pastures
