on the excursion to Odell lake Sun
day. This time the trait stopped at the
station ami the people picnicked on
the shores of the lake near the tracks.
It was an ideal spot, the trees shade
the grounds to the shore line and j
flowers grew under foot. The drink
ing water came from Ice cold springs.
Mr. and Mrs. C. F, Simpson who
have been visiting at the Pallas Mur
nhey home left Sunday for their home.
Sir, Simpson is director of the Hood
Kiver band. His band marched in (he
parade Friday and Saturday.

One by one the props of the air
planes, resting at tlie Hobi Airways
after their strenuous efforts of the
two days before, were snun. and one
by one the planes roared down the
field and scattered for home ports.
The air derby, sponsored by the
American Legion post of Eugene,
thrilled the crowds of people that
watched the planea race and stunt.
Many people were out Sunday to see
the planes leave.
