A number of visitors will be coming
and going and several eventa are be
ing planned to welcome them. Among
hostesses for the week will be Mrs.
Henry 0. Sheldon and Mrs. F. L.
Btotson on Wednesday and Mrs. Lil
lian Beaton and Mrs. H. O. Potter who
will entertain Thursday.
The big event of the summer ses
sion for the university students and
faculty members will be the annual
frolic and stunt night on Friday,
July 19, on the lawn of the campus.
A lawn supper will be served at
o'clock to which townspeople are In
vited. Another event of Interest to
tho campus women will bo the open
meeting planned for Monday evening,
July 15, by the members of Pi
Lambda Theta, national honorary edu
cation society for women. The meet
ing will be at seven-thirty o'clock in
Johnson ball for all university women,
several Interesting talks by visiting
suciToer faculty woinon being anted.

Next Friday. July 10, brings an In
teresting event for the students and
faculty members on the university
campus when the annual frolic for the
summer session will be given. Supper

Mr. Bell Will
Wed Saturday
The marriage of Miss Eunice Vi
vian Parker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John C. Parker of Springfield, to
John B. Bell, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.
John B. Bell of this city, is to be
solemnised Saturday evening in Sa
lem. Mr. aud Mrs. Alfred Skade are
to attend the couple.
News of the marriage is of Interest
to many friends of the conple in Eu
gene and Springfield and to a large
circle of university friends.
Miss Parker is a tormer student on
the campus and a member of Phi Mu
sorority. Mr. Bell is a graduate of the
university and this year completed his
work in the school of law and haB
just taken the state bar examination.
Following their marriage they will
go on a motor trip of six weeks to
British Columbia and California, re
turning to make their home in Eugene
at the Peterson apartments. They are
to be accompanied as far north as
Portland by Mr. and Mrs. Skade.
nrWENTX-SIX were present for
the meeting of the Fairmount
Presbyterian Ladies' Aid society at
the home of Mrs. John Simons on
Friday afternoon. The group is mak
ing bonnets for the Sunset Trail page
ant and taking orders for them. The
society has decided to maintain no
booth at the fair grounds this year
as it usually does. During tho re
mainder of the summer the Genera!
Aid society will hold no more meet
ings, although the groups will meet
from time to time.
