(Special) Kenneth Oxner, hiking
leader, started out Tuesday morning
with the first Scout hikers of the
11(28 season with the determination
to reach Caatle Hock lookout station.
The pioneer hikera are Allen Hodg
son, Bob Hunner, Bob McFarland,
Harold Mackin, Bob MacLagen, Geo.
Mason, Frank N'ombalaia, Robert
Stark, and Carrol Auld.
Another aet of hikera leaves Wed
nesday morning with the ssme desti
nation. Thoae who expect to take
part in the hike are Philip Tillman,
leader, Winston Bacua, Gordon
Wright, Billy Wheeler, Halph
Hughes, George Petersen, Carl Par
ker, Kenneth Hendricks, Edward
Newman, Hugh Godard, Cbarlea
Spencer, and Carlton Gray.

"Chief" Clark led the remaining
members of the camp on a night hike.
The boys went up the river and re
turned after nightfall. Every boy
took turna finding the way in the
dark forest. After several hours of
fun, they returned to camp in the
late hours of- the night.
John Steelqulst, camp quartermaa
ter, is starting a class for craftwork
in leather. The boya are making
hand-tooled helta for their leather
craft merit badges.
Bill Booth took a crew of 1 f boya
to drag cedar logs from the hill for
the purpose of building a large raft
which will be anchored in the center
of the swimming pool. In one hour
the tuture lumDerjacas dragged uown
four large logs. The boya report that
Bill is an all-round good man but a
cruel taskmaater.
Two large boxes of supplies came
In for the camp kitchen today. Among
the latest improvements in the kitch
en is a new hot water barrel which is
connected with the stove. This tank
is Intended to save work for the
"Riders of the Kitchen Range" who
are ordinarily known aa K. P.'s.
