In Montana the couple run out of

Owennboro, Ky., they wero released
from jail before a deputy could bo
sent from Eugene. It was alleged ihnt
the influence of a fedeml judge in
Kentucky, a relative of Hhelton, was
lined to obtain his release, ami Sheriff
Slkkels protested the move to the
governor of Oregon.
After returning lo Eugene of his
own volition, ho was arrested and
pleaded guilty to stealing the automo
bile, and was sentenced to the peni
tentiary. Ho attempted to return to
his former wife, who refused him.
"If you ever get, married again,
I'll kill you," Hhelton IS nuoicu us
saying to his former wife before, he
left for tho penitentiary.
While, he has been at Halem, his
former wife obtnined a divorce, anil
has since remarried. The slieritt a 01

tempt to carry out his threat.
Shelton is fi feet 10 Inches tall,
weighs 170 pounds, has light complex
ion, blue eyes and dark hair. Jlc is a

funeral of Kdwtti V. ladd, senior sen

day the arrival of his body from Haiti-

however, that funeral services will be
held here tomorrow, after which the
body will he placed in a vault to wait

S. Fletcher, agent, he announced to
day. The directory will contain the
names of breeders of all classes of
pure stock,' nnd will be available for
the breeders' use, or for buyers of
stock. There are more Jersey cattle
on the list than any other class of
purebreds, Holsteins following, then
Shorthorns nnd Shropshire sheep.
Mr. Fletcher has tried to commu
nicate with all breeders, but asks
any he might have missed to commu
nicate with him, in order that his
list may be os nearly complete as pos
