The Rogue river district had an early prospect for a 3,000 car crop, but indications now are for about 1500 cars. Prospects are very good in the Hood liiver district, with indications of more than a AO per cent increase over lust year. Many of the older prune trees, par ticularly those which have not had good rare in the past, suffered from the winter. I'Hiijjn.ird Jeuseu, governor of Greeulnti.i, "1 belico Amundsen is enroute there, as lie haa not returned to Spitzbergen." said M. Jensen today. ' Some mihnp has occurred, doubtless to the airplanes, or in trying io reach the pole he used io much petrol that lie vu unable to return to his smrting place and therefor flew it far as possible toward Capo Columbia, which is nearer (the pole) by a third than .Spitzbergen. "Depots were laid out by Gottfried Hansen at Cape Columbia, Kichard Sound at Cape Conger. They will probably be Amundsen's aalvatiou. This is one more proof of his fore sight. 'The depots were laid out with a view to the Maud expedition when he Intended going into the ice by the new Siberia n ulamis and realized he might be forced to return afoot. When the flying expedition started, these depots were taken into consideration." Governor Jensen believes, however, that Spitzbergen is the only ipot from which an active effort to rescue Am undsen is possible. At other places, as alonic the east coast of Greenland or at Cape Columbia, the relief expedi tions must await until he turns up. Colonel Koch, chief of tho Danish air force, does not believe the prob ability of finding the Amundsen party by airplane search is very Eret. He agree with other authorities that such a search is like "looking for a needle in a haystack." Herrimans and Soviets Agree; MOSCOW, June 10.
