Veatch, Lane county pioneer who died at the home of her daughter, Mra. Adolph Ilennett, near ('reswell, yesterday, will be held at the Presby terian church at Cottnge Grove at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, It la an nounced. Mrs. Veatch was 82 yeara old. She Is survived by three aona, h, W. Veatrb of Dayton, Wash.; W, h. Veatch of Myrtle l'olnt, and Robert H. Veatch of Klamath Falla, besides her daughter with whom she wrn liv ing at the time of her death. Twelve grandchildren and six great grand children are also living. Horn at Milfnrd, West Virginia, January 2, 1H43. she moved with her parents to Schuyler county, Missouri, at the age of 14 yeara. She was mar ried to IaFarette M. Veatch at the ago of 21 and they immediately atarted across the plitins for Oregon, settling in the vicinity of Cottage Grove In 1804. She made her home In that locality every since. Second rea ling of the proposed-city drdinance providing f;r the appoint ment of a city planning commission will be at the first council meeting ;n May, according to Mayor K. II. Parks who states ttmt he desires all citizens to take an interest in this proposnl and look over the pr'tvitdons of the ordinance if any suggestions can be made. The copies of the ordinance are at the city recorder's office and can be read by anyone interested, tiie mayor states. If there is no change made in the origuml ordinance draft the third reading will probably be held a Iwi nt the first May meeting. Several changes in the terms of the ordinance have been auxzested but nothing definite has ns yet been out lined, the mayor said todny. Offden It.
