OP) The legal machinery has been set in mo tion for the-enforcement of the new prohibition low regarding the sale of intoxicating liquors during the na tionol elections next June. The law, as amended by. the last session of the legislature, prohibits the sale and dispensing of intoxicating liquors dur ing the two days on which electova register, during the two days prior 10 and od election day and during th entire time consumed in canvassing the votes. The old law prohibited the sale of liquor only on the two registration days, the eve of election, on elect on day and during the counting of th votes. At the elections in June there will be chosen members of the house of representatives, one-half the mem bership of the senate, governors and other officials of the various pro vinces of the Philippine Is ands. Governor Pierce today issued a letter to the people of Oregon suggesting a record attendance at the opening'' game of the first series of games of the Pacific Coast Baseball league to be played in Portland Tuesday, April 21, and sug gesting that business men allow their employes a half holiday for the after noon. "It gives me great pleasure', says the governor's letter, "to anuouuee that the opening baseball game of the Pacific Coast league will be played on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 21, 1112..
