On Thursday evening of the coming week will be the concert at the new Congregational church building, at Thirteenth and Ferry streets, in which soloists will be Mrs. Prudence Clark, mczao contralto, nnd John Stark Evan, organist. The event is open for the public. Another interesting musical function being arranged by the Congregational church will be the appearance of the glee club of Pacific University, Forest Grove, on the evening of March 22. Alumnae Group Plan To Give Benefit April Fifteenth The state alumnao association of the university, as it is represented in It Eugene membership, will give a lnrgo benefit affair for the Mary Spiller scholarship fund, to which'it contributes annually, on Wodueaday afternoon, April fifteenth. The benefit has been planned ns n bridgo ten, and will be giveu nt the Osburn hotel nt two o'clock. Plans for tho function are already prac tically completed, under tho direction of Mrs. Herbert Clarke, president of the state alumnae. Assisting her arc a number of prominent matrons inter csted iu the association and the fund which it will benefit. Tho bridge tables will be sold to town nnd faculty circles, and matrons who desire to entertain groups of friends in that way will be most cor dially Invited to do so. By the aame play, any club groups desiring to take two tables or more and play as clubs will be welcomed, and they may either furnish their own prir.es or piny lor the prizes which the organization will give. An Invitation will be extended tn the various womeus groups on the campus to take tables, nnd those wishing individual reservations will be placed for the hours of play.
