Peter Verigin has been arrested at
Hsrrisburg, Oregon, ns given out by
the Oregon papers. Not knowing that
Here is jnother person by the same

I wish to ssy to the good citizens
thit there are two Larion Verigins
under same name and surname. The
person who has been convicted ia an
unorganized independent Doukhobor
whole full name is Larion John Verc
io. while my name is Larion William
Veregin, and in my opinion the guilty
person should be punished to the full
eitent of the law.
This L. J. veregin has acquired
molt corruptive principles of a bad
Canadian- who smokes, drinks, and
eats meat as food, which contradicts
with the Dukobor belief.
I am a member of the Doukhobor
society known as the Christian Com
munity of Universal Brotherhood Ltd.
and hold the fair reputation amongtit
the Canadian people, and further

Edgar Lea .Masters, noted Ameri
can poet, nnd author of the famous
'Spfon River Anthology ,' will be in
Eugene March U for a lecture at the
women's building, it is announced by
the uuiversity. His anthology has been
characterized as the most thought
provoking book of poetry of modern
times. While wandering through a
cemetery, the idea came to Mr. Mas
ters to interpret the epitaphs and the
names uf the dead. He is the third of
modern poets to appear op the cam
pus in the last two years. Carl Sand
burg nnd Vacliel Lindsey attracted
unusually largo audiences on their vis
its to this citys

The staff of workmen to take care
of the new Miner building on Ninth

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary

uty, is supervising the evening's pro

nounced by R. A. Denny, consul of the
local camp.
Children Inoculated
Dr. S. M. Kerron, city and county
health officer, started today to inocu
late the pupils of the Frances Wil
lard school with toxin-antl-toxin, the
diphtheria preventative. Within the
next week it is expected that practi
cally all pupils of the Eugene schools
will have received the inoculation.
To Attend Funeral
Members of Kebekoh lodge are ask
ed to attend tho funeral services for
sister Mary J. LaDuke at Branstetter
chapel, Wednesday afternoon at 3
o'clock. Members of the lodge will
have charge of the services at the

Stock Shipment Planned
If there are a sufficient number of
