the rooms in the form of flags in
honor of Lincoln's birthday. Valen
tines and other favors of that dey
were also used. Mrs. Emma Tomp
kins and Mrs. Mahala Teeters, both of
Apparaatox circle of Cottage Grove
were guests of the local circle for
the afternoon. Besponses for the af
ternoon were 'relative to Lincoln'
birthday, and a pleasant time was
spent in listening to stories of the
Civil war veterans who related some
events of the war. Later in the af
ternoon there was an exchange of
valentines. Mrs. Bessie Farriugton

sister, -Mrs. Boy Bice, was matron of
honor, while Mr. Bice attended the
bridegroom.
