A heavy vote Is expected, as there baa been considerable "elec tioneering," both for and against the propoaed levy. Drainage District On Assessors Roll Lane county is about tb have its first drainage district on the assess ment rolls, r according to Ben F. Keener, county assessor. This dis trict which was organized this year comprises 2130 , acres near Junction City and is known as the J. D. Cox district. The directors are B. - A. WashbL'rne, J. D. Cox and Paul Bor- gaard. No other drainaga district has yet been placed oh the assessment books and there is no provision- in the way of separate columns for this, Mr. Keener states. The assessment data on the ditrict will be carried separate- ly for the time being. National Grange Opposed to Child Labor Amendment ATLANTIC CITY, N. J, Noy. 21. By an overwhelming vote the rsa tional Grange today put itself square ly on record agalnBt the child labor amendment to the federal constitu tion. The organization pledged its most vigorous efforts to prevent rati fication of the amendment. This decision was reached after a long discussion and was supported by the votes of every Btate in the body except Washington, Oregon and Mis souri.
