Helen Jacobs Wins From Miss Gardner HIS LIKE TO DO THEIRTRICKS Do wild animals like to-do tricks? That's a question that is often wked Al G. BarncB and his trainers. Let Miss Nell Roth, who will be seen in one of the three steel girded arenas of the Al G. Barnes wild ani mal circus, when the big show comes to Eugene, Friday, August 22, answer (be question in her own way. "Wild animals mostly dislike to learn at first. They're exactly like Bttle children. But when they find that no harm is meant, that each les ion is eiven in kindness, with tid-bit rewards for each proper advance, they begin to exhibit interest, boon they do their work Vith zeal. In fact, the happiest hour of the day for my nomas, next to feeding time, of course, is that in which they exhibit their higher education to the crowds in the stands. "Tigers, especially, are peculiarly susceptible to domestication, Svhen taken young. You have only to watch them dash from the cages into the arenas, if you have any doubts. They love to exercise, the change, the ex citement and the music. That's where ttey are better off than the zoo ani mals. They have a real interest in their work, and work is a blessing, isn't it V" These tigers nre only n part of the 2000 wild animals with the Al G. Barnes circus this year. The circus also includes a cast of 10SO people and 550 horses. The opening feature rti the proprnm this year is "Pocahontas it the Court of Queen Anne," includ ing in the cast three tribes of Indians, WashooB, Escondidoes and Apaches. And last, but not least, is the great est movie-star of them all Joe Mar tin, himself. "The Chevrolet being several yean old, there is considerable play in tha pistons, and consequently some oil, works up into the firing chamber, but during the time that I have used 'Aristo' I have never fouled a plug. When the engine was overhauled soma time ago, there was but a thin deposit of carbon, which waa soft enough to be easily removed." ' r Motors lubricated with Aristo travel from 10,000 to" ' 20,000 miles without so-called "carbon" Some records , ' of 25,000 to 50,000 miles have been reported by Aristo . , . users. , ' - v '. , ji ' . The reason is, most of the'sofr, fluffy residue" that' come3 from Aristo blows out with the exhaust and thus . ,; removes itseir. 1 - Hard, Flinty, "Sticky" Carbon Another kind of "Carbon" hard and flinty ha3 a tendency to cling and, therefore, accumulates nearly four times as fast aa the fluffy kind. Chisels, or special torches, are requLed to remove it every 3,000 or 4,000 miles, or your motor "knocks" end loses power, due to leaky valves and "sticky" pistons. You know this kind. This ."carbon" also attaches to spark plugs and short-circuits them so the motor misses. It become incandescent and pre-ignites . the gas, causing "knocking". . w There are several real advantages, therefore, in a soft, fluffy residue that so minimizes the time-wasting, troublesome "carbon deposit' V Aristo users axe so impressed that they write us frequently.
