30. Locally, the auxiliary will have
poppies for sale beginning Friday,
May 23, until Memorial duy.

Mrs. William V. Jobes of Portland,
will be a Eugene visitor Thursday and
Friday when ahe comes to take charge
of the ceremony of placing a marker
on the grave of Peter ilulin, a vet
eran of the war of 1812. The national
society of the United titates Daugh
ters of 1812 will be represented by its
members in Oregon who will place the
off ioiuj grave marker for the soldierB
of the war of 1812 upon the grave of
Mr. ilulin, father of L. G. Hulin, of
this city who is now in Clureinont,
California.
The ceremony will take place Frl-
da ttt ternoon. 'at two o'clock in the
.Odd Fellows .cemetery and will be
conducted by .stats officers of ths so
.cie'ty essts'ed by ths Daughters of
the American Revolution. -The public
is invited to'the service. Three graves
of soldiers of the war of 1812 Uv
been parked in tire state by-the Ore
gon lociety.
Mrs. Jobes, who la state president,
will be s;d to meet any women eli

the Osburn hotel Friday afternoon
from four until fire o'clock.

tation to take part in the ceremony
and several of their members will bo
present at the service.
The dozen unaffiliated members of
the P. B. O. Sisterhood entertained
those who b el on ft to Chapter 11 in Eu
gene with a most enjoyable party in
the Chamber of Commerce Monday
evening. A great variety of games sod
contests provided entertainment for a
lively evening. Husbands of P. B. O.'s
were guesta also.
Bowls and baskets of Scotch broom
added in carrying out the decorative
color scheme of gold and white, P. E.
0. colors, and were used generously In
tne otmng room wnere tames were ar
ranged for games.
After refreshments, dancing was
enjoyed.
Mrs. L. Ij. Bond is expected to ar
rive in Eugene Friday to visit for
two weeks with Mrs. Kate jCundiff.
Mrs. Bond former! lived here bat is
now a resident of Le Grand, Califor
nia. Bhe is enroots to tbe east where
she will visit her son.
The girls of Aloha XI Delta will be
hostesses for a, bridge tea at tbe An
chorage Saturday afternoon from two
until five o'clock. A program of music
will be offered for diversion as well as
the pnetime of cards. Reservations
may be made by culling the Alpha Xi
Delta house.

The very enjoyable comedy. "Come
Out of the Kitchen," is to he present
ed by the senior class of the Univer
sity high school next Friday and Sat
urday evenings. The play was written
by A E. Thomas and was taken from
the story of the same name by Alice
Duer Miller. TJie first presentation
of the comedy was the Charles M.
Cohen's company in New York, with
Ruth Clintterton and Bruce Mcltue
playing the leading roles, and has
proved a. great success when put on
either by professionals or amateurs.
The scenes are laid in the home of
an old southern family in Virginia the
Dangerftelds. While their parents are
abroad, the four Dangerfieid children
lease the house to a Yankee million
aire, but because they can get no
otners, tne children take tne place of
servants. The friend of the Yankee
falls In love with the cook, as do the
Yankee himself and the poet, and the
plot becomes more complicated.
