The death of .Mr. Pryor occurred at his home here Sunday evening at 10::!0 o'clock after an extended illness which had made him bedfast since last August. Mr. l'ryor was born in Iowa where he giew to manhood, and from this state at that time he moved to Nebraska, thence to Centralis, Washington, which he made lis residence for about four years.. Kver f ince, for a period of alout ISO .years, he lias lived in Oregon. As a resident of Hnrrisburg he has served in the official capacities' of councilman, city mnrshal and mayor. He has also served ns a dep uty sheriff in Nebraska. Aside from farming he devoted considerable time to real estate and was rirominpnl in hnrtRt- ; ing this section of the Willamette vnl lty. While living in town lie was a steady I nember of the Christian church to which j he has been much service. He was also j a member of the local Odd Fellow order lor years, lie was aged tw years, nine months and 21 days. Resides his wife he is survived by his son Calvin, of Eu gene and grandsons, Clell and Gordon, ard his foster-father, A. XL Grant, a veteran of the Civil war and a long time resident here. Library Gives Play. The entertainment put on by the local library association at the liinKo theatre ! last Friday evening was witnesses by a : full house. Music and a two-act drama were the big numbers, with n monologue I by Mrs. ,T. M. Hochdanner which was en- cored. The two-act play, "Not a Man in the House," went over big with each member doing the part justice. The hish school glee club which assisted in the r;usic was given a big hand. The first accident of much consequence on the new stretch of paving between here and Halsey occurred just opposite raulk station a little after 7 o'clock Sun day evening. W. J.
