engine room of. the Mineral Lake Lum
ber company mill at Mineral, Washing
ton, early Monday evening caused a fire
which virtually destroyed the big mi::,
burned two dry kilns and several thou
sand feet of lumber stored in the yard,

The flames spread so rapidly after the
explosion that the few men that were
in the mill were forced to fall back and
abandon their efforts to fight tho flnmes.

At Vera Cruz. Mexico
Nogales, Ariz.. June 1,1. Fifteen per
sons, including a woman, were injured in
a street buttle at Vera Cruz between
striking street sweepers nnd police, ac

the millage tax for the Oregon Agri;ul
