Uncertainty over transportation difficulties and prospects of new restrictions on trading had a do pressing effect today on the corn market Opening quotations, whicn ranged from 1-4 off to l-8c advance, with January 1.18 and May 1.16 7-8 to 1.17 1-8, were followed by a material setback all around. Subsequently a sharp upturn in prices resulted from advices showing acute in ability to move grain from interior prints to terminals. Wull street advances and ti more complete undemanding of the mag nitude of General, Hniss sjccc-ss tended also to strengthen the murktt. The close waa unsettled, .1-2 to 1 l-2c net. higher, with January 1.19 1-2 vo 1.10 018 and May 1.17 1-2 fi 1.17 0-8. Oats weakened with corn. Business was almost entirely of a local character.
